Ms. Pierce’s primary area of practice is corporate law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, data privacy and compliance, and commercial real estate transactions.
Experience
- Assisting clients with business formation, governance and conversion, mergers and acquisitions, and business succession planning
- Working with clients on intellectual property related issues and compliance, including registering and maintaining trademarks and copyrights, drafting license and subscription agreements, and negotiating joint development agreements
- Advising clients on data regulations such as the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Virginia’s Consumer Data Protection Act (“VDDPA”)
- Assisting clients as they navigate commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, leases, tax-free exchanges and financings
- Steering clients through high-value litigation on both sides of the Atlantic, including international and regional mediations in the United Kingdom, breach of contract disputes in Federal Court in Washington State, and intellectual property disputes in the Southern District of New York
- Serving as a qualified solicitor with Pinsent Masons LLP, a top-10 UK law firm
