Roanoke, Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that two of its partners, Lori D. Thompson and Robert A. Ziogas, have been selected to the 26th edition of ­Virginia Business magazine’s “Legal Elite” list.

Virginia Business magazine’s “Legal Elite” list is an annual peer-driven compilation of top-performing attorneys licensed in Virginia, across multiple practice areas. The program polls thousands of attorneys and law firms each year to identify legal professionals recognized by their peers for excellence. The inclusion of Thompson and Ziogas marks a distinguished achievement and affirms their leadership and reputation within the legal community.

Thompson represents clients in state and federal court in litigation, including bankruptcy and creditors’ rights and trust and estate disputes. She also guides clients in complex family law disputes involving family-owned businesses and high-value investment portfolios, through litigation, mediation, and Collaborative Divorce. Thompson also serves as Member in Charge of Spilman’s Roanoke office.

Ziogas’ primary area of practice is litigation with a focus in construction law, including construction contract disputes, defect claims, mechanic’s liens, and payment bond claims. In addition to construction-related litigation, Ziogas is very well versed in insurance matters, commercial and business disputes, and various other civil suits in state and federal courts.
