Spilman Partner Thompson Named to Pro Bono Service Honor Roll

Roanoke, Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that Lori D. Thompson, Member in Charge of the law firm’s Roanoke office, was named to the 2025 Pro Bono Service Honor Roll by the Virginia Access to Justice Commission. This recognition highlights Thompson’s ongoing commitment to providing voluntary legal services to those in need.
Thompson has a long-standing dedication to pro bono work, including providing representation through Blue Ridge Legal Services and leading pro bono initiatives through service on the Access to Justice Pro Bono Committee, the Virginia Bar Association Pro Bono Committee, the Board of the Virginia Poverty Law Center, and the Board of the Legal Aid Society of the Roanoke Valley.
At Spilman, her primary area of practice is litigation, including business litigation, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights. She also guides clients through complex divorce matters, bringing both skill and compassion to her work.
“Providing legal help to those who can’t afford it is a responsibility we all share as members of the legal profession,” Thompson said. “By giving just a little of our time, attorneys can make a meaningful difference for those who truly need support.”
