Business Leaders Gather for Spilman SuperVision™ Labor & Employment Law Symposium

May 30, 2025

Charleston, W.Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) welcomed business leaders from across the region today for its widely popular SuperVision™ symposium, offering cutting-edge insights and practical solutions for today’s HR challenges.

“Our goal with SuperVision has always been to deliver practical, real-world guidance—not just legal theory,” said Eric W. Iskra, Chair of Spilman’s Labor and Employment Law Practice Group. “With new policies and executive orders, shifting regulations, and heightened scrutiny of workplace practices, staying informed isn’t optional—it’s essential.”

The SuperVision™ series, which Spilman offers at no charge, is tailored to business owners, human resources professionals, and anyone who manages employees. The firm’s focus on delivering valuable education and fostering connection has made SuperVision™ a go-to event for business leaders throughout the region.

“This year, we focused on equipping employers with strategies to stay compliant while managing evolving workplace dynamics. We hope SuperVision gives business leaders the clarity and confidence to lead effectively in today’s environment,” Iskra continued.

Themed as “Working Hard or Hardly Compliant: Strategies, Solutions, and Surprises in the New World of Labor and Employment Law,” this year’s symposium provided valuable insights on employment topics such as HR impacts from the new administration; employee relations; changes at the NLRB; free speech in the workplace; and much more.

Additionally, during the event's “Lunch and Learn” session, attendees and Spilman attorneys had lively discussions on other issues of interest, such as the latest Title IX developments and hot topics on the workers’ compensation front.

Spilman will continue its 2025 SuperVision™ series with a symposium in the North Carolina Triad region in late October. To keep clients and friends up-to-date on labor and employment law between symposia, Spilman offers a complimentary quarterly e-newsletter.
