Mr. O’Neill’s primary areas of practice are energy law, utilities and real estate. He approaches title law as an exercise in risk mitigation and management for clients, clearly disclosing title risk and working with clients to identify and execute solutions.

  • Over 15,000 hours of experience representing institutional oil and gas exploration and production companies in complex mineral title examinations and certifications within the Appalachian Basin states of West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania
  • Representing clients in oil and gas title-related litigation, including partition matters
  • Preparing deeds, deeds of trust, assignments and other related transactional instruments, with supporting documentation relative to ad valorem tax assessments and transfers
  • Assisting clients in matters of real estate litigation, including right-of-way and land slip litigation
  • Representing clients in matters including business formation and startup, governance, regulatory licensing, nonprofit organizations, tax compliance and contracts drafting
