Mr. Denton’s primary area of practice is litigation, with an emphasis on complex business disputes, complex construction cases, consumer finance and banking litigation, appeals, and fiduciary disputes.

Experience

  • Representing businesses in disputes involving claims of unfair trade practices, trade secret misappropriation, breaches of contract, fraud, and fiduciary breaches in all North Carolina state and federal courts, including the North Carolina Business Court
  • Obtained dismissal of all claims asserted against North Carolina accountant and bookkeeping business in the North Carolina Business Court
  • Defended a Canadian commercial printer in Guilford County Superior Court against claims totaling over $1 million
  • Represented an LLC member against other members in a complex action involving derivative claims, contract claims, fiduciary duty claims, and dissolution claims
  • Represented heir of an estate in North Carolina Court of Appeals in appeal of dismissal of all claims in multimillion-dollar dispute against executor of estate
  • Obtained favorable result for subcontractor against general contractor in multimillion dollar arbitration proceeding arising from $100 million road and bridge rehabilitation project
  • Judicial Law Clerk, Chief Special Superior Court Judge James L. Gale of the North Carolina Business Court
