Telecommunications Conglomerate Acheives Walk-Away Victory

Spilman achieved a walk-away victory on behalf of a multinational telecommunications conglomerate in a Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) discrimination/retaliation lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. The plaintiff, a former Verizon manager, claimed he was constructively discharged from employment after he was discouraged from taking leave for the care of himself and his family members. After targeted written discovery, and one day after plaintiff's deposition, the plaintiff agreed to dismiss his lawsuit with prejudice.
