Spilman Member Serves as Faculty at Prestigious International Trial Academy

Charleston, W.Va. — The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle announced that member Neva G. Lusk served as teaching faculty for the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Trial Academy held at Stanford University Law School this summer.

The IADC is an international, invitation-only association of corporate and insurance defense lawyers. The annual IADC Trial Academy is one of the oldest and most well-respected programs for developing defense trial advocacy skills. The intensive program blends faculty instruction and demonstration with individual student participation. The faculty consists of leading defense trial lawyers selected on a national basis.

In addition to her work for the IADC, Lusk also serves as national director and member of the Defense Research Institute. She is a member of Lawyers for Civil Justice and is past president of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.

Lusk’s primary area of practice is general litigation with emphasis upon product liability, toxic torts and class actions. She received her B.A. from Marshall University and her J.D. from West Virginia University.

Lusk has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation and Criminal Defense. She has also been recognized as a Leading Commercial Litigation Attorney in Chambers USA America’s Leading Business Lawyers, and as a West Virginia Super Lawyer.
