— The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC (Spilman) announced that attorney Jessica K. Burr recently won second place nationally in the Risk Management Association’s (RMA) 2014 Article Writing Competition. She also won first prize locally and second prize regionally.
Article submissions for the annual writing competition are reviewed and judged by RMA members’ chief credit officers and chief risk officers. Burr’s winning article
focuses on the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the potential risk it poses to lenders.
At Spilman, Burr devotes her law practice to bankruptcy & creditors’ rights, corporate & business law, mergers & acquisitions, banking & finance, community banking, and real estate matters. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University and her law degree from Wake Forest University.
