Spilman Adds Distinguished Member of Wheeling Community to Business Law Team

Wheeling, W.Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that Donald A. Nickerson, Jr., a well-known attorney in the region, joined the law firm's Wheeling office.

Nickerson has practiced law in Wheeling for more than 26 years. His law practice focuses on corporate and business law, including transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate. He also works in the areas of trust and estate planning and administration.

Nickerson has a long and noteworthy history of community service in the Wheeling area. His service includes the Board of Trustees for the Oglebay Institute, the Chambers YMCA Board of Directors, the Regional Economic Development Partnership Board of Directors, the Wheeling Creek Watershed Protection and Flood Control Commission, the Wheeling Heritage Board of Directors, the West Liberty University Foundation Board of Directors, and the Wheeling Hospital/WVU Medicine Board of Directors.

Nickerson currently serves as a Commissioner on the Ohio County Commission. He previously served as a Vice Chair of the West Virginia Republican Party and as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Wheeling. He earned his undergraduate degree from West Liberty University and his law degree from Capital University.
