Winston-Salem, N.C. — Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC (Spilman) is pleased to announce that attorney
Michael D. Jefferson has joined the firm. His primary areas of practice are
litigation and all aspects of
construction law. He also will assist on foreclosures and
corporate matters.
Jefferson has significant experience litigating cases to verdict in state and federal courts, in bench and jury trials, and in administrative hearings. At Spilman, he will leverage this experience in his representation of construction industry clients in a variety of commercial and residential construction litigation.
Jefferson most recently served as Assistant Public Defender in Forsyth County, North Carolina. He also has served as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, Federal Prosecutor, and Compliance Attorney and Counsel for The United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Admitted to practice law in North Carolina, Jefferson earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and his law degree from Emory University School of Law. He also is fluent in Spanish.
