— Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that Jeffrey W. McCamic
, formerly of the McCamic, Sacco & McCoid law firm, has joined the firm's Wheeling office.
At Spilman, McCamic's areas of practice will include real estate, mineral law, commercial lending and collections, estate planning and administration, elder law, and corporate organizations and operations.
McCamic recently left the firm his great uncle, Charles McCamic, founded in 1899. In 1922, Charles was joined by Jeff's grandfather, Jay T. McCamic. Jeff made the move to Spilman because of the strong relationships he has built with others at the firm throughout his career.
"Jeff is a terrific addition to our northern panhandle team," said David R. Croft, Spilman's Member in Charge of the Wheeling office. "It's not often that you get a chance to bring someone of his caliber and experience on to your team. We are happy to welcome him and his clients to Spilman. Jeff's practice fits in neatly with our existing practices."
McCamic's work in the oil and gas industry includes lease negotiations for infrastructure development, well pad installations, ponds, roads, storage tanks and pipelines. He has served as general counsel and on boards for various local and regional banks. He also has acted as adjunct professor at the West Virginia Northern Community College & Belmont Tech (now Belmont College).
Admitted to practice in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania, McCamic earned his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College and his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law.
