Spilman Attorney Inducted into W.Va. Chamber Hall of Fame

Charleston, W.Va. — The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle announced that G. Thomas Battle (Of Counsel) was inducted into the newly established West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. This honor was bestowed upon six influential business professionals to recognize their business leadership over the past fifty years in West Virginia, their ethical business practices and their extraordinary vision for the future.

Battle is a former chairman of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and has served as chairman of The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, trustee and secretary of the Herscher Foundation, and president of the Gordon C. and Mildred R. Jackson Foundation. He is also a former West Virginia State Tax Commissioner.

As an attorney, Battle’s primary areas of practice are corporate law and local, state and federal tax law. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his LL.B. from University of Virginia School of Law. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Tax Law.
