Spilman Adds Three New Attorneys

Charleston, W.Va. —Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC (Spilman) announced three new attorneys have joined the law firm’s Charleston office, strengthening its corporate and litigation departments.

Paul G. Papadopoulos joins Spilman’s corporate law department, where he will focus on assisting clients in general corporate and commercial law matters and in federal, state and local tax matters. With 25 years of experience in these areas of law, he is the current Chair of the West Virginia State Bar’s Committee on State and Federal Taxation. He earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Nicholas S. Preservati is a well-known West Virginia attorney who will be assisting clients at Spilman in energy law matters and complex litigation. He represents energy clients in all facets of energy litigation, including high-stakes litigation. Prior to joining Spilman, Mr. Preservati led a very successful practice at Preservati Law Offices. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Kelly G. Pawlowski joins the firm’s litigation department. Her practice will focus on litigation in the areas of workers’ compensation law, federal black lung law, employment law and energy law. She earned her undergraduate degree from Bluefield State College and her law degree from West Virginia University, where she received CALI Excellence Awards in Employment Law and ERISA Law.
