Ms. Potter is Chair of the White Collar Criminal Defense & Compliance Group, and her primary practice areas include internal corporate investigation, white collar criminal defense, energy law, and complex litigation. She is a member of The Battle Group, Spilman's high-level litigation practice group.

Representative Experience

  • Handling in-house investigations for companies faced with compliance and/or employee crime issues, both in response to government inquiry and as a referral source/liaison with federal and state law enforcement
  • Representing individuals who receive subpoenas for grand jury and interview appearances and target letters
  • Representing medical providers faced with health care fraud investigations and False Claims Act cases
  • Representing individuals and companies faced with EPA and OSHA investigations

  • Representing energy companies defending personal injury lawsuits stemming from drill rig accidents and lease disputes
  • Handling general criminal and civil litigation, including health care fraud, tax evasion, securities & wire fraud, cybercrime and firearms & illegal drug trafficking
  • Working with Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations division and various drug & violent crime task forces
  • Handling abusive trust tax shelter prosecutions, employment tax cases, broker protocol issues and money laundering/financial fraud matters
