Spilman Attorney Atkinson Inducted Into Litigation Counsel of America

November 6, 2013

Winston-Salem, N.C. — The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced today that attorney Nathan B. Atkinson was formally inducted into The Litigation Counsel of America™ (LCA) as a Fellow. His selection is based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation.

The LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of United States attorneys. More information on the LCA and its selection process can be found at www.trialcounsel.org.

Atkinson is a key member of The Battle Group, a special team of Spilman trial attorneys who are highly experienced in litigating high-stakes and document intensive litigation. His litigation practice focuses on toxic tort and mass ecological exposure cases arising from chemical and naturally occurring materials, environmental litigation and complex, multi-party commercial litigation. He is also co-chair of Spilman’s shale gas practice group.

Atkinson earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and his law degree from Mercer University. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina and West Virginia.
