Mr. Hunter's primary areas of practice are commercial and residential real estate law, including development law, lending law, landlord and tenant law, mineral law, title insurance, and related areas of practice.

Representative Experience and Transactions

  • Represented numerous national and local banks, both as lead counsel and local counsel, in all nature of real estate lending transactions, including construction, refinance and permanent lending for office, retail, industrial, golf course, and residential development matters
  • Represented a major Pittsburgh area bank in the air rights subdivision and sale of a downtown office building, and represented two hospitals in air rights transactions involving the development of a parking garage and office complex for the one, and a hospital expansion for the other
  • Represented a mining company on all real estate aspects in the sale of the corporation, which involved over 100 leased and owned properties in six states, ranging from office space to quarries and operations facilities
  • Represented a major national delivery company in the acquisition and development of its headquarters building, including the purchase of numerous sites from various owners, subdivision and zoning matters, and the negotiation of the architect's, contractor's and construction manager's contracts  
  • Represented a developer in the acquisition of property from a steel company and assisted in the navigation of the Pennsylvania DEP Act 2 brownfields procedures, leading to the development of the property and the leasing to a major delivery company as a transportation hub
  • Represented a corporate owner of former farm land in its establishment and development of a 300+ acre office park
  • Represented a major downtown law firm in the lease and sublease of its headquarters and ancillary services space
  • Represented Pittsburgh Habitat For Humanity on a pro bono basis in its acquisition and sale transactions
  • Western Pennsylvania Manager of the Direct and Agency operations for a major national title insurance company
  • Associate Counsel and underwriter for the Western Pennsylvania Commercial and Agency divisions of another major national title insurance company
