Mr. Eckley's primary area of practice is mineral, commercial and residential
real estate law.
Representative Experience
- Working closely with in-house counsel and operations at a large oil and gas company for a six-month period on various legal issues related to natural gas production, transportation and storage
- Negotiation, preparation and interpretation of coal, oil and gas leases, easements, licenses, rights-of-way, surface damage agreements and other natural resource land use agreements
- Performing coal, oil and gas title examinations and preparation of corresponding title opinions to assist a wide variety of clients in acquiring desired property rights, including large-scale title examination projects for mineral companies
- Representing clients in commercial and residential real estate transactions, including an acquisition of approximately 130,000 mineral acres
- Working on general commercial transactions, financings and contracts, including the development and financing of a wind-powered electric generation facility
- Advising landlords and tenants with respect to negotiating leases, drafting lease documents and representation in connection with lease disputes
